Content Map:
For this project I was asked to research a UNESCO site. Sana’a was a place I had never heard of, and thought it would be interesting to learn about, however I pretty quickly regretted my choice as the conflict over this area is very complicated.
I created a content map visually showing an overview of my research to better help understand what elements were key to the topic before moving on to the next steps in the project.
Carousel Instagram Posts:
For these posts, the goal was to show the current problems in Sana’a, and redirect users to irusa.org to learn more, or donate to relief funds.
Video Advertisement:
A pretty simple video made in after effects that was meant to be viewed on Instagram, along with the carousel posts above.
I have learned a lot more about after effects since making this video. Originally it had audio of a traditional instrument from Yemen, but I didn’t feel it added much to the animation.
Art Installation:
Here we were tasked with creating an art installation that represented our site, and caused viewers to think. I felt the main reason Sana’a was being destroyed was due to the war in Yemen, and that for American viewers, the main takeaway should be how the US is funding the war, and therefore perpetuating the destruction of the city.
