SJSU Esports

I worked with the sjsu esports team to create graphics for their social media, their merch and apparel, and pitch decks to potential sponsors. I worked with a team of other design students, these are some examples of the work I did, though I did many more graphics following the teams style guide. It was a job that required quick turnaround on projects, often posting scores shortly after matches or creating last minute assets needed by the social media team.

Tournaments and Events

With any event the club had, they required social media posts announcing it. This collection of announcements were following a style guide using Nintendo characters. I tried to have each character interact with the text in some way, to make it a bit more fun and playful.

Issues with Copyright Characters
Last minute the organization informed us we could no longer use copyrighted characters in our announcements, and as a joke I suggested recreating the ads with knock off characters, as seen in this last announcement.

Merch Proposals
The club asked our team to propose ideas for a backpack, shirt, and hoodie. The goal with these mockups was to create as many as possible to propose at our meeting with the boss. He had given us some direction of other collegiate teams apparel, but our team wanted to give him as many options as we could before moving forward to final ideations.

Final Apparel

In the end my designs were chosen for both the hoodie and the long-sleeved shirt. I still have a lot to learn about photographing clothing…

Jersey Redesigns
We went through several rounds of redesign for the jersey, led by the club president and the design team. These were my submissions, and the team was given the opportunity to vote on their favorite. The final design was mine, but as it was the result of multiple polls dictating revisions, neither I nor the design team were happy with it.
